Same as everyone else: bad robo-voice (female) accusing me of "intentional fraud" and claiming lawsuit has been filed by "the United States." First time calling back: "voicemail box not been set up yet...." Total red flag. Second time: provider message says "unable to complete your call." Third time: long pause with live background audio of busy-sounding room, then male voice, "Investigations Department", I start in about harassing message, he hangs up. Fourth time: "IRS, how may I direct your call?" Heavy accent, female, I start about harassment again, she hangs up. Fifth time, new male voice, English almost incoherent, I restate complaint, get back a torrent of vulgar abuse, "SOB, MF", etc. I laugh at him, and I hang up. Sixth time, new male voice, accent sounds like New Mexico Chicano bilingual citizen (very familiar, I lived there ten years), he says he got harassed too and is making some kind of report (but this was on the same number as the one harassing me....?) Googled the area code, it is greater New Mexico not including Santa Fe or Albuquerque, full number allegedly belongs to an "Austin Shann" and is out of Verizon.

Crappy automated message saying the IRS was going to sue me for fraud. Called the number back asking to be removed from their call. I was hung up on 3 times. Same IRS recording as everyone else. Got 3 calls in one day, one from this number and two from another number. The recording just starts going, so if it goes to voicemail you get like the ending of the recording in the message. One of the times I picked up the call and heard the whole thing, I"ve got a call recorder app so I saved the whole thing too. The poor english is laughable and it"s not covered up well by the unconvincing caveman era siri doing the talking. I thought robot voices were so much more realistic these days?? I called the number back and got a guy with a thick indian accent who answered saying "Internal revenue service?" and I told them they kept calling and it was really annoying. They hung up on me and then didn"t take my next couple calls. I tried the other number and asked if I could give them some advice. Thick accented dude plays along and says sure, so I tell him if they"re gonna scam people to get someone who"s better at english to write their script for their robot to say because it"s not convincing otherwise. He asks how they can fix it lolol and I told him they should just not do it actually. So if you"re looking for some good entertainment these guys will probably engage with you if you call the numbers back!! lol They know what they"re doing is wrong.

I called back on an unlisted number, the call center was very obviously in India, the accent and background talk was unmistakable. I spent just under a half hour toying with the rep and giving him false information, like I was Hawkeye Pierce, from Ottumwa Iowa, etc. (MASH references.) He realized I was messing with him and he hung up. Sad part is I"m wondering how many elderly folks, etc, actually get caught in these scams.

Got recorded message from "IRS", telling me to call back to the same number. It"s the usual scam. It"s Indian or Pakistanis telling me they are from the IRS and I"m going to jail unless I pay. My phone number is a recycled phone number, and they had the name and address of the person who owned the number before me. I played along and in order to pay them they want you to drive to a store, buy iTunes cards, and read the iTunes cards numbers to them so they can steal them. I kept them on the phone for about 25 minutes as I pretended to walk to Wal Mart to buy the cards. Then I asked them if they wanted me to pay them in dollars or rupees (Indian currency). They cussed at me and hung up.
