Recorded Message says they are from IRS and to call them back or will they will take legal action. I called phone number back and no one answers. I work for local police agency. Each and every day, my coworkers and I get about 1 dozen calls a day from our local citizens about these scammers. Our sheriff and Money Magazine recently wrote about these scammers. They usually are calling from out of the country and spoofing a local number in the USA. Tonight I personally got a recording from this number. DON"T call these scammers back. You will be on their list to sell your number to other scammers. If you happen to answer your phone, immediately hang up & block this number. Better yet, just screen your calls on your voice mail, and don"t return any calls. Verify yourself with the IRS if you owe money. Report scammers to Federal Trade Commission. Report to your local law enforcement only if you have been a victim of monetary loss, they can"t do anything about out of country scammers, only the Feds can. Be suspicious and never give out any personal info to anyone calling you unsolicited on the phone. Good Luck!

I called this number back and spoke with a guy with a heavy accent.. he asked my name.. i asked his... he said he was looking for Jason something. . It was a recorded message stating they were from the IRS requesting that I call a Julie Smith from the police department back asap. I call and it was some guy with an India accent. I told them to remove my number because I am not who they"re looking for. He asked for my name. I refused. Not sure if this is a scam because I just got this phone number 3 months ago and whomever had this number before me owes a lot of debt!
