Caller left voicemail message and said they were "from bank," but didn't say which one (a red flax) and said they got a check from Life Protect company to be deposited in my bank account, but has a different name on check than mine. I didn't call back, but called my bank to a known bank official number I have on my phone. The bank employee said they do not see anything in their records that showed a check was received for my checking account that needed to be checked. So it's a phishing scam. Whenever you get a call that may question you to verify info such as Social Security number, bank account or credit card number, tell the person, if you think it may be official, you'll need to call them back, but don't call the phone number they give you, call the number on the back of your bank or credit card to verify if it was a real call from them.
