Thanks for the comments!!! I got that phone call today. II did not answer, because I did not recognize the number.. I listened to the voicemail and it kind of scared me.. Of course after that reaction I thought this has to be a scam. I immediately looked it up and I got on this site. It made me feel a lot better.

Claims to be from the Social Security administration and that there has been "illegal activity on my social security number" and I need to call 706-971-8699 and speak to a case officer. 3 dollar bills have a better chance of being real then this guy. Don"t call, it"s a scam. The Social Security Administration does not call you.

Just received this as a message on my voice mail. It was someone with a terrible accent, and you could tell they were reading a script (not very well) and said there had been illegal activity on my social security number. The first number they left was actually the toll free number for the Social Security office. (800-772-1213) but they also said I could call their "Landline" at 706-971-8699. I did not call them back.

I too got this call today, a message was left, as I don"t answer unknown numbers... claiming my ss # & bank account were going to be frozen due to illegal activity on my ss #. They said I must contact them within 24 hours in order for homeland security to get my "paperworks." This is total scam!

They called three times over the past week and left a recorded message. The first two calls talked about a "legal matter" and the third and last call claimed to be from Homeland Security. The caller had what sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent. I just blocked the number.

This number sent me a group text with one other number and me. I did not recognize the other number either, which was (347) 816-0388. The text sent a link for supposed free products from Amazon. The text read, “See worthy find, Rebecca It seems like something youd appreciate bopbiq.co,:;EE0bWqw.” It also had a picture that said, “Free Stuff,” next to a shopping bag with “Amazon” written on it.
I blocked my number and tried to call both numbers. This number the text came from (323) 775-7100, went straight to a message that said, “This number has not setup their voicemail,” and hung up. When I called the other number that was part of the group (347) 816-0388, a lady answered and said hello, but I just hung up. I blocked both numbers and did not click on the link.
