I received a call from this number saying he was with the technical department and I had several issues with my computer. When I told him he was calling a lawyer"s office he wasn"t worried. I asked his name & number to have my boss call him back and he said sure, but first don"t you want to fix your computer? I said I am a receptionist, I don"t have a computer at my desk.

Told me that my computer was sending them error codes and wanted remote access to fix it. I told her that I would get my It guy to call her back to fix it, she said that It would not be able to do it that I had to do it with her to make my computer secure. I asked her how she new it was my computer, she said that it didn"t matter what kind of computer I had that she knew it had viruses.

Not the first time someone with an Indian accent called to tell me about supposed malware on my computer. However, I am retired so have some extra time on my hands. This time the call merely interrupted me washing some strawberries. Instead of hanging up, I managed to keep him on the line. for 8minutes and 14 seconds before he handed me off to "Andrew", his supervisor. I could only keep Andrew on for another 2 minutes and 3 seconds before he abruptly hung up. Still, for a bit over 10 minutes they couldn"t be hassling someone else. I did my bit for humanity today.

Same as above. Caller ID showed 937-249-1690, Aberdeen, OH. The caller sounded like a woman with a south-Asian accent. She sounded so sincere, gave me an ID number which she said verified my computer, and answered various questions, so I asked for a website where I could verify what she was telling me. She said, www.vtsupport.us and told me to call 845-363-6555 after I had checked them out. Googling the phone number led me to this website. I don’t know what to make of this, but it sounds fishy.
(I guess I have too much time on my hands, otherwise I would not have spent so much time dealing with the phone call and follow up.)

Said that I had viruses on my computer and I told them that I did not register my computer with them. they said they were from VT Support in Michigan. I asked how did they get my phone number, they hung up on me. I looked up the company on the internet it shows a company webpage copywrite 2017 with a P.O, Box for an address, I personally believe this is the same scam as before but they are trying to fake a business on line.

Called from I"d number 305-944-7054 which is in Florida. When told this he with Asian accentinsisted he was in Michigan.! Same thing here. He was warning about a virus or some signals my computer was supposedly sending to their system and wanted me to get in front of my computer. He was probably gonna have me install their .. spyware , I asked where he is calling, he said www..vtsupport.com , caller ID showed up as 209-956-1877 , which shows as Samreen Khan, Adobe Creek Court, Stockton, CA . Never follow their instructions if some company who you never got any relation with tells you that they are trying to help. In these matters choose the formal communication channels.

"James" from "VT Support in Bloomfield Hills, MI, called saying my computer was generating errors. I already know this is a scam so I play along. He reads me my CLSID and says it"s unique to my computer (no it isn"t) so I"ll know he knows it"s my computer. It"s common to all windows computers. His number is listed as Manhattan, NY, not Bloomfield Hills. I told him I was away from my office and he gave me the number 845-363-6555 to call back once I was at my computer.. The number he called in on was 313-241-0525, which is not recognized when you call back.

This number sent me a group text with one other number and me. I did not recognize the other number either, which was (347) 816-0388. The text sent a link for supposed free products from Amazon. The text read, “See worthy find, Rebecca It seems like something youd appreciate bopbiq.co,:;EE0bWqw.” It also had a picture that said, “Free Stuff,” next to a shopping bag with “Amazon” written on it.
I blocked my number and tried to call both numbers. This number the text came from (323) 775-7100, went straight to a message that said, “This number has not setup their voicemail,” and hung up. When I called the other number that was part of the group (347) 816-0388, a lady answered and said hello, but I just hung up. I blocked both numbers and did not click on the link.
