"Carmen" calling me back twelve days after assuring me, "...consider this your final notice..." and even after telling me (many times) I didn"t qualify for their "lower your rate" offer because I pay my credit cards off in full each month.

The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid past call blocking. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) followed by a 7 second pause, then they say "good bye" and disconnect. when I failed to press any buttons.

Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn"t it?

Here is a transcript of their latest offering:

[female voice] "Hello, this is Carmen at Cardholder Services calling in reference to your current credit card account. It is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate. Please consider this your final notice. Press the number 1 now to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate or press the number 3 to discontinue further services. Thank you and have a great day."

[7 second pause] [female voice] "Good bye".

This caller is really persistent using different calling phone numbers. It was driving me nuts but I finally found an effective way to stop the calls; call 866-246-7196 and give the caller"s and receiving phone numbers. The phone number 361-271-4999 is on their list they provide the do not call request service for and they will have your phone number removed from the callers list and in a couple of days the calls stopped.

I get these calls frequently telling my there is nothing wrong with my account, etc. or that I can get a reduced interest rate. They always say they are Card Holder Services which is who I do make payments to on at least one credit card. However, my credit card company said they would never contact me that way.

This call is almost a daily event.when you call back it says the number no longer in service.

Real scam

Folks, I owe you an apology. With my post of January 13th I"m really trying to trick you. If you"re naïve enough to actually call the 866 number I gave in my post (January 13th), you"re not submitting a "Do Not Call" request, you"re creating an "add me to your spam calls list". YOU"RE actually aiding the SPAMMER which creates an instant "business relationship" allowing the spammers to call you! I sincerely apologize for insulting your intelligence and trying to trick you into receiving more spam calls. I am putting this same message on other "Who Called Me" type web sites under different names. God, please forgive my wicked soul!
