I received a call from this number. The caller (with Indian accent) said they had been receiving numerous reports of errors from my computer.He claimed to be from the maintenance department and could receive many many things from this computer - to enhance the lie he create to mislead me into faith in this story of disaster - that really does not exist. I almost always hang up on them - they change the story a bit to get my interest. He does not always speak with an accent - He and a she perhaps just a man and woman yet surprised me one day when I was called by name - was not like the accent I heard before - then later used this accent - therefore they could perhaps be Amercian, British, or Scottish - it was plain and simple uncomplicated English

Woman with a heavy Indian accent called me ID stated Phillips D and DEMANDED that I sit in front of computer so they have full access to my computer! I have windows problems she stated. I am a savvy computer user so that was not going to happen from me! I kept asking them where they were from and they stated Seattle Washington, even though the caller ID stated a FL number. I could hear noises from the background so appears they had others called as well. They stated if I move the mouse to the left hand side of the windows they can easily help me with my problems. I asked if only computer problems could be helped, they did not get the joke! I then stated why would I give a stranger access to my computer and they hung up. Luckily I was not a victim, pitty on the others who may not be as lucky.

Heavy Indian accent, said he was with Microsoft tech support and they had been receiving online reports that my computer was infected with malware. It was a slow afternoon so I strung him along for about 10 minutes before telling him I use a Mac.

He was quite smooth actually, immediately switching gears and saying they also had Apple software engineers there and they were still getting reports of problems on my computer.

I eventually got bored, told him he should be ashamed of what he was doing-- and I asked him what his mother would think if I called her and told her about this call.

He then angrily told me to perform an anatomical impossibility...

This is a scammer that will try to lock you out of your computer and charge you to get back in. Beware. They LIE! FRAUD and COMPUTER CRIMINALS!

I got the same call this morning from "Keith Richards" who claimed he was located in South Carolina Salt Lake City Utah. I played with him for 20 minutes before asking him if he believed in karma. I told him it was very bad karma to commit fraud, and that I thought his mother and father should be very ashamed of him being a criminal. He told me that they contract with the US Federal Government, and that the call was being recorded. I let him know that it is illegal to have been recording my call without my permission. I kept demanding the address he was calling from so my lawyer could send him a civil demand letter, and telling him he was full of (expletives), has bad karma, and parents who should be ashamed of him. It was overall a very satisfying experience.

Claims that they are from Microsoft and that my computer has problems. Received a call from this number with person of Indian accent stating that he represents Windows. he further stated that I have been running some extremely dangerous files and that my computer is infected. I immediately realized that the "Windows" name would have come up on my caller ID if he was telling the truth, and concluded that this was a scam. I responded that I would have my computer tech company rep check it out, then hung up the phone. Info also informs that the telephone number on a BellSouth Telecommunication Switch number. The Switch Number is PNCYFLMADS0. I am going to call Bellsouth and let them know about this.

I have noticed that after I have called Comcast with internet problems (connected to middle eastern speaking person) that I began getting calls later the same day for "computer virus" scam from number 805-785-9004.

I received a call from this number. The caller (with Indian accent) said they had been receiving numerous reports of errors from my computer. I strung him along as he directed me to the event viewer. He asked me how many messages I see there. I told him there was only one and it told me that a caller was trying to lead me into trouble. He then said, "I can see that you are a bloody mother f***er" and hung up. He then called right back and uttered more profanities. I hung up. He called back several more times and I hung up immediately every time.
A friend got one of these calls and they talked him through giving remote access. They then proceeded to download a program that disabled his computer and displayed a message that said he needed to pay a 0 license fee to get the computer operational again. This is extortion, plain and simple.
