Left me a message stating 2nd attempt to contact me told me I had a warrant for my arrest for not paying all my taxes in 2010 I told him my employer takes my taxes out and I get a small return every year so how did I fail to pay.... He then asked me how I"d like to resolve the problem and I told him to mail or serve me my warrant and I"d gladly take care of it.... He then hung up on me. THIS IS A FULL BLOWN SCAM DO NOT FALL FOR IT

I received the calls twice today with the following message:

"Hi, this message is intended to contact you. My name is Steve Martin and I"m calling regarding an unfortunate accident, executed by U.S. treasury, intending to your attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid an issued appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 858-206-4546, I repeat 858-206-4546. I advise you to cooperate with us & help us to help you. Thank you."

This is scare tactic with threatening nature, which must be stopped & fined for violating "the do not call"!

Very similar to all above - In brief said I was in serious trouble with the IRS for 2011 Taxes. I said that neither I nor my accountant had received any such notification - and if he sent me some documentation, it would be handled. He quickly hung up.... A scam obviously. But not sure what he was fishing for? He didn"t ask for bank info or anything else

Same as everyone above. Guy on the other end (middle eastern accent) said that he was calling from the US Treasury and I needed to cooperate immediatly to avoid a federal offense. He said a warrent for my arrest had been issued because I owed back taxes from 2010. He also said if I hung up the phone, police would be at my work in 20 min, and all my accts would be seized, and I would be unemployed for 6 months. TOTAL SCAM. DO NOT COOPERATE!

Received two calls from the U.S. Treasury about legal action. So I called back and told them to come and get me, I"m waiting. They just hang up. No dialog. Disappointing. Steve Martin has left 3! messages on my machine, calling this is the second attempt to contact me ( but not stating my name or any other identifying information.) he says this is about an Enforcement action from the Treasury Dept., and that if I do not contact him this will go to a Magistrate or a Grand Jury for a Federal Criminal Offense. I advise you to help us to help you. The contact number is 858-206-4546.

I reported it (Via a FORM!) at the actual US Treasury Dept ( on the internet) as Fraud. Apparently they get so many of these you actually fill out a form! There was other information on their website that said the scammers called a lot during tax season, and that they were VERY AGGRESIVE and would say anything to get you to pay them. They said the Treasury Department would never ask for your identifying information and would never ask for money over the phone, and would always contact you by mail first. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK!
